Senator Ted Cruz from Texas didn’t mince words when he took aim at the Democrats’ approach to illegal immigration. According to Cruz, the flood of migrants pouring over the border isn’t just a crisis—it’s a calculated move by Democrats to stack the voter rolls in their favor and cling to power indefinitely.
On his podcast, Cruz didn’t hold back in criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris and the current state of the southern border. He suggested that the administration is turning a blind eye—or perhaps even rolling out the welcome mat—to illegal immigrants as a way to boost their political influence. After all, why secure the border when you can secure future voters instead?
Cruz argued that Democrats are aiming to inflate the number of illegal immigrants to 20, 30, even 40 million. The goal? To “win every election forever and ever,” he quipped. By fundamentally altering the demographic landscape, he believes they’re pushing the country further to the left without bothering to consult the American people.
Taking his critique to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Cruz pointed a finger directly at Harris and the Democrats. “Kamala Harris wants more illegal aliens to invade America because she views every single illegal alien as a future Democrat voter,” he wrote. He didn’t spare the Mexican government either, calling out their practice of bussing non-Mexican migrants straight to the U.S. border. It’s almost as if everyone’s in on the scheme except the American citizens footing the bill.
Cruz also highlighted changes in asylum policies under the Biden-Harris administration. Migrants used to have to be in northern Mexico to book asylum appointments, but now they can set them up from southern Mexico too. Convenient, isn’t it? All of this feeds into growing concerns that an open border isn’t just a humanitarian issue—it’s a political strategy that could permanently tip the scales in favor of Democrats.
Data seems to support Cruz’s warnings. Analyses have shown that Democrats win a whopping 90 percent of Congressional seats in districts with higher foreign-born populations. Pew Research polling indicates that only about four percent of illegal immigrants from Hispanic backgrounds lean toward the GOP. Even among legal permanent residents and foreign-born U.S. citizens, support heavily skews toward Democrats.
There’s also the issue of fraudulent voting. All 15 counties in Arizona were recently named in a lawsuit alleging they failed to remove illegal immigrants from voter rolls. Given that Arizona is a pivotal swing state, the implications for future elections are significant. Even if illegal immigrants don’t vote, their sheer numbers can affect congressional representation and, by extension, the balance of power.
This isn’t the first time someone has sounded the alarm. Earlier this year, Elon Musk took to social media to suggest that the Biden administration’s open-border policies are a deliberate attempt to create a “permanent majority” and establish a one-party state. “Simple, yet effective,” Musk called it. Seems like Cruz isn’t alone in his suspicions.
So here we are, watching as the border crisis unfolds while questions about the true motives behind it continue to mount. Is it about compassion and opportunity, or is it a strategic play to reshape the political landscape? According to Cruz—and quite a few others—it sure looks like the latter.
