It was probably inevitable that the ABC debate would be a train wreck, but people were already yelling about the moderators’ bias before it even kicked off. And it’s no surprise why Vice President Kamala Harris insisted on debating with ABC. The bias was practically gift-wrapped for her. While the moderators were laser-focused on grilling former President Donald Trump, they conveniently let Harris skate by unchecked, despite her string of blatant lies throughout the night. If I had to cover all her falsehoods, I’d still be writing tomorrow, so let’s just hit the lowlights.
Harris pulled out every hoax she could dredge up about Trump, starting with the ridiculous lie that he had anything to do with Project 2025. It’s a classic move from her playbook: throw out unfounded accusations and hope they stick. But she didn’t stop there—she had to toss in the “bloodbath” hoax too, because why not, right?
The worst of her fabrications—though it was tough to narrow it down—were her outrageous claims that police officers were killed on January 6th and the old “fine people” lie from Charlottesville. Both of these have been thoroughly debunked, yet she shamelessly repeated them. The Charlottesville “fine people” lie has been on video for years, and even Snopes, the liberal fact-checking site, has confirmed it’s bogus. But here she was, spewing it like gospel. She even sounded like she was channeling Joe Biden with that recycled tiki torch line. Originality clearly isn’t her strong suit.
Megyn Kelly summed it up perfectly for all of us watching. “Charlottesville both sides lie. Bloodbath lie. All she does is lie.” Couldn’t have said it better. Harris’s performance was a masterclass in dishonesty, but the media will conveniently ignore it or, worse, twist it in her favor.
But, as usual, we’ll have to put up with the media playing defense for her. They won’t call her out, and they’ll keep pushing their narrative no matter how many lies she tells. Unfortunately, that’s just how it goes in today’s media landscape.
