Breaking: FEMA Ordered to Skip Houses With Trump Signs

FEMA’s mission, at least on paper, is to provide Americans with assistance during disasters, whether natural or man-made. Funded by taxpayer dollars and supposedly there to serve everyone equally, FEMA’s staff should be delivering aid without any favoritism. But apparently, in Lake Placid, Florida, having a Trump sign might mean you’re left out in the cold. According to a report by The Daily Wire, a FEMA supervisor instructed workers to ignore homes displaying any sign of support for Donald Trump as they assessed damage from Hurricane Milton.

In a stunning display of political bias, a federal official reportedly instructed disaster relief workers to avoid homes supporting Trump during their surveys in Lake Placid. Internal FEMA messages viewed by The Daily Wire show the directive came from none other than supervisor Marn’i Washington. The message was clear: if a Trump sign was spotted on a property, it was off-limits. Washington, according to multiple federal employees, communicated this directive both verbally and through a team chat used by FEMA workers on the ground.

This wasn’t just some rogue comment either; workers took Washington’s “advice” to heart. In a truly depressing testament to the state of “neutral” federal aid, at least 20 homes waving Trump flags or signs were reportedly bypassed from late October into early November. Those homes, therefore, never even got the chance to qualify for assistance. The Daily Wire also noted that messages in the FEMA system marked skipped homes with notations like “Trump sign no entry per leadership.”

Of course, this all fits right in with the general lackluster response to the hurricane from the administration at the top. But the fact that ground-level FEMA workers actually followed through on these orders, leaving Trump-supporting residents stranded, is troubling on another level.

In a country that’s supposed to value equal treatment, the idea of skipping over Americans in need based on their political beliefs raises questions about FEMA’s priorities. When a relief organization funded by all taxpayers starts selectively deciding who qualifies for aid based on a yard sign, it’s hard not to question whether FEMA is playing politics instead of doing its job.
