The very issue that propelled Trump to victory in 2016 played a key role in securing his comeback, yet the left refuses to acknowledge their self-inflicted disaster. Years ago, they abandoned their once-dominant messaging on healthcare to embrace an extremist open-borders agenda, championing amnesty and an illegal alien free-for-all. The kicker? Even Latino voters, whom Democrats claim to represent, aren’t buying it. Trump’s massive gains in Latino-majority border counties in 2020 should have been a red flag. Instead, Democrats ignored reality, and now they’re left flailing as voters reaffirm their support for strict border enforcement.
The Biden administration spent years pretending the border crisis was nothing more than a manufactured right-wing talking point. That delusion shattered on Election Day when Americans sent Trump back to the Oval Office with a clear mandate to restore order. Now, immigration enforcement has kicked into high gear. ICE raids are happening nationwide, illegal aliens are being deported in droves, and state law enforcement agencies are preparing to assist in immigration enforcement under Trump’s directive. A long-standing statute is being invoked to allow states to deputize officers as immigration agents—most states are eager to join the effort. Meanwhile, the Laken Riley Act, passed with strong bipartisan support, ensures that illegal aliens who commit additional crimes are detained. Of course, entering the country illegally is already a federal crime, but that detail seems to elude the left, whose latest meltdown revolves around the horror of possibly paying more for produce.
Rather than admitting they were wrong about immigration, left-wing pundits are now scrambling to justify why America supposedly “needs” illegal labor. CNN’s Jenna Arnold recently argued that without illegal immigrants, no one would be around to pick strawberries—because apparently, she believes Americans are incapable of doing hard work. Reducing an entire group of people to nothing more than low-wage laborers is not only condescending but eerily similar to how 19th-century Democrats justified their dependence on slavery. According to the left, enforcing the law is cruel, not because of its actual impact, but because it might inconvenience their daily routines. The idea that America will somehow collapse without an endless flow of illegal labor is both laughable and offensive.
The claim that Americans refuse to do certain jobs is one of the left’s laziest and most dishonest arguments. There is no shortage of legal workers who would take these positions if wages were fair and businesses stopped exploiting illegal labor for cheap costs. Instead of cracking down on employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants to undercut American wages, Democrats whine that deportations will ruin the economy. It’s the weakest of all talking points, but thankfully, Trump isn’t the type to cave to media pressure. Unlike past presidents, he understands that Americans expect action, not excuses.

The majority of voters support mass deportations, and his policies are making it clear that those here illegally will be found and removed. While liberals panic over blueberries and smoothie ingredients, the rest of the country is breathing a sigh of relief as immigration laws are finally being enforced again.
