Democrats Want ID for Their Convention, Not Elections

The Biden-Harris administration has made it clear that they view voter photo ID laws as “burdensome” and “unnecessary.” Yet, they’ve had no problem allowing countless illegal immigrants to cross the border without proper vetting. But when it comes to their own party’s event, they’re all about ID checks. Funny how that works.

To attend the Democratic National Convention (DNC), you’ll need to show proof of identity, as reported by NewsNation. Attendees must pass through security perimeters and physical barriers, and even Chicago residents living near the convention areas must show ID if they want to have guests over. Suddenly, security is a top priority for the Democrats — at least when it comes to their own safety.

The irony here is rich. They’re all about protecting their own event, but when it comes to safeguarding the integrity of our elections, they balk at the idea of voter ID. It’s almost as if they only care about security when it serves their own interests.

The fact is, voter ID laws have widespread support among Americans. A Pew Research study found that 81 percent of Americans are in favor of requiring a government-issued photo ID to vote. Yet, Democrats have consistently opposed such measures, labeling them as racist and suppressive. But these ID requirements serve the same purpose as the security checks at the DNC: keeping out those who have no business being there, whether it’s at a political event or in the voting booth.

Even Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee, seems to understand the importance of ID when it suits her. At a recent event in Arizona, attendees had to show government-issued photo ID to get in, according to KTAR. This is the same Harris who once decried voter ID laws as tools of oppression. The hypocrisy is astounding.

President Joe Biden, along with other prominent Democrats like Elizabeth Warren, have condemned voter ID laws as racist and discriminatory. Yet, they’re all silent when it comes to the ID requirements for their own events. Could it be that these ID checks aren’t actually racist, but simply inconvenient for their political agenda? It certainly seems that way.
