House GOP: Biden’s Scheme to Enrich Family Is ‘Impeachable’

A lengthy investigation led by Republicans has culminated in a scathing 292-page report accusing President Joe Biden of engaging in what they describe as “impeachable conduct.” The report, a collaborative effort by the House Oversight Committee, the House Judiciary Committee, and the House Ways and Means Committee, claims that Biden “abused his office” and “defrauded the United States” to benefit his family financially. According to the report, there is “overwhelming evidence” that Biden was deeply involved in his family’s foreign business dealings, using his public office to secure financial gains for his relatives.

The investigation uncovered that the Biden family and their associates allegedly raked in over $27 million from foreign entities since 2014. The report accuses then-Vice President Biden of playing an active role in these dealings, citing instances where he allegedly attended dinners with his family’s foreign business partners and even spoke to them on the phone, often at the request of his son, Hunter Biden. House Republicans allege that the Bidens used a network of complex financial transactions to launder money and disguise the origins of their foreign payments.

One particular instance highlighted in the report involves a 2014 dinner attended by Joe Biden and Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina. Following the dinner, Baturina reportedly wired $3.5 million to Hunter Biden’s firm, Rosemont Seneca Thornton. The report draws on records from Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop, which the mainstream media and 51 intelligence officials had previously dismissed as “Russian disinformation” during the 2020 election. It also points to meetings Joe Biden allegedly had with Hunter’s business associates from Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan while serving as vice president in 2015.

The report contends that these transactions and meetings would never have taken place if not for Joe Biden’s position in the U.S. government. It argues that Biden’s involvement in his family’s business activities amounted to an abuse of public trust, positioning his family’s financial interests above those of the American people. The document further suggests that Biden’s actions constitute grounds for impeachment, as they reflect a pattern of leveraging the Vice Presidency for personal gain.

Adding to the controversy, Hunter Biden confirmed earlier this year during a deposition that his father was indeed the “big guy” referenced in a text message discussing a 10% stake in a 2017 deal with CEFC China Energy. Hunter’s business associate, James Gilliar, had texted about holding a stake “for the big guy,” a phrase Republicans argue was code for Joe Biden. While Hunter claimed his father was unaware of the deal, Republicans insist that Biden’s involvement in the family’s financial dealings was instrumental, labeling the entire operation as a calculated scheme to enrich the Biden family at the expense of the American public.
