San Diego Sector Border Patrol agents reportedly apprehended three suspected Palestinian terrorists after they illegally crossed the border from Mexico into California, as detailed in a recent New York Post report. These suspected terrorists allegedly had a “salacious photo” of a masked man holding an AK-47 rifle, adding to the gravity of the situation.
A source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) hinted that while the report couldn’t be officially confirmed, it’s “highly likely” given the current climate. Typically, information on Special Interest Aliens (SIA) isn’t shared outside the originating sector and is sent up the chain of command for further action.
Another insider noted that San Diego Sector agents are encountering so many SIAs that the report’s credibility is high. The insider suggested that these SIAs are being directed to California crossing points because Del Rio Sector agents have ramped up background checks with the FBI’s help, a level of scrutiny that California sectors may not be matching.
Since the current administration took over, the source lamented, these border crossings have become “highly dangerous,” reflecting a perceived indifference from the top. The Post also reported that alongside the three Palestinians, a Turkish migrant suspected of terrorist ties was also apprehended by San Diego Sector agents.
These four individuals were transferred from Border Patrol custody to ICE and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force for further investigation, highlighting the serious national security concerns at play.
In April, Breitbart Texas’ Randy Clark reported a surge in the apprehension of SIAs along the U.S. southern border. A Department of Homeland Security report reviewed by Breitbart Texas revealed nearly 25,000 migrants from Special Interest Countries in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa had been apprehended entering the United States in the first six months of fiscal year 2024.
CBP data shows a stark increase in encounters with migrants on the Terrorist Screening Data Set during the Biden-Harris administration (FY21-24), with 375 such migrants caught, compared to just 11 during a comparable period under the Trump administration (FY17-20).
These alarming encounters aren’t limited to the U.S.-Mexico border. Swanton Sector officials reported record-breaking apprehensions of migrants from 85 nations, according to social media posts by Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia, further underscoring the escalating border crisis.
